Maria Rodrigues, LSE

"My husband and I had the great fortune of signing up for a city tour. I wanted to write and tell you that our guide was an exceptionally engaging speaker and his knowledge of the city's history was inspiring. He made our visit to Canterbury a rich and memorable one He brought the history of the place alive and breathing right before our eyes. It happens sometimes that people who do tour guiding often feel they're speaking to tourists who simply have very shallow interests. This is not the case with us. His talk was a jewel in our visit to Canterbury and to the UK in general. "

Mr & Mrs Chinnery, Hornby Island, Canada

"I just wanted to let you know that our group was very happy with the guides. Please tell them that they did a fabulous job!"

"On my arrival in Canterbury on Wednesday 19th, I went to The Beany (Information Centre) and booked a guided tour for Thursday 20th at 14.00 hrs. Our guide was Andreas from Florence, who lives in Fordwich
My reason for e-mailing is to pass on my laudable comments on this most pleasant, charming, knowledgeable, highly helpful, inspiring and accommodating guide.
He gave us a FIRST CLASS tour and I am certain that the group went away from his tour with heads buzzing with exciting info."

"I just wanted to write and thank you very much for arranging the tour for our group from Belgium on Saturday; it was a great success!

I'd also be very grateful if you could pass on our thanks to the two guides, Franki and Jane. I was in Jane's group and she was a splendid guide: she spoke at a level and in a way that was understandable for all our students despite their varying levels of English; she was immensely knowledgeable and she cracked some good jokes (Belgians love 'the English sense of humour' and they were charmed by this).

From my colleagues I heard that Franki also gave a wonderful tour and again was a wealth of information. Furthermore, although Franki wasn't expecting it one of our party, Vicky, was deaf and she was able to share a lot of her tour in sign language as well: an unexpected bonus which was really appreciated by Vicky and made her feel very much included.

Furthermore, our bus drivers at the very last minute said they couldn't drop us off at St George's, as we'd arranged, and took us to the coach park instead. This delayed the tour and meant we had to change the meeting place, but Jane and Franki were very kind about this and also very practical in dealing with the situation.

Everyone enjoyed themselves very much; thank you all for your part in that!"

Helen Parry, CVO Taxandria, Belgium

"On behalf of the Lewes Castle Rotary Club members who visited Canterbury over the weekend & went on the guided walking tour, can you please thank our tour leader Doreen Rosman. Doreen arrived before the pointed hour & explained the City & outer walls of the Cathedral in the most interesting way that was enjoyed by all. She was also able to answer all the questions asked & was most informative. "

"Many thanks for the very complete and detailed guided tour of the city which Miss Clare has provided us last Sunday morning, July 14th 2019. I very much enjoyed the guided walk of the town, the cathedral grounds and the surrounding streets. And of all of her explanations, I'll always remember the one about the medieval origin of expressions like "cantering horses", "eavesdropâ" and "gardez lou""

"We very recently booked a personal, Huguenot focused tour of Canterbury through Canterbury Tourist Guides. It was excellent. We were asked if we had any specific requests to be included and our guide, Doreen, who was superb, researched and added these to our tour about which she was already extremely knowledgeable. We were kept well informed of proceedings leading up to the tour and the company responded promptly to all contacts that we made with them. Thank you to all who were involved and especially to Doreen."

Penny and Pete Latham

"We were calling in at Canterbury on 2nd May 2022, on our way to a short walking break in Kent, as it’s a place we had never visited. We booked a guided tour at 2pm as we thought it would be a good way to see a good section of the city in the time we had available & it didn’t disappoint.
Our guide, Ian, was informative & entertaining & we thoroughly enjoyed his stories & history of Canterbury. We would highly recommend this tour & it is great value for money too. "

Jane P

"Just wanted to pass on a huge thanks to our guide for the 2pm tour today. My husband and I learned a great deal and it was a very interesting and informative tour! And we appreciated the stories and energy despite the drizzle. "

"Jan and I just wanted to say thank you to your guide today who took us on the 11.00 walk. It was a fascinating tour of Canterbury. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. Had an ability to explain and communicate. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you again. "

Tim and Jan Jewers

"Ian was fantastic. Our Aachen friends were so impressed and engaged that we ended up extending our tour a little longer. You can see that Ian was passionate about what he was telling us, which made it even more interesting for us. I learnt so much about the city and can’t believe it took me this long to go on the tour. Will definitely book another.

Thank you for organising it, especially at such short notice."

Sinitta, Rotary Club Canterbury Sunrise

"We are back from our trip to Kent and I just wanted to give you some feedback.

First of all, thank you for your kind and very helpful personality. It really was easy and a pleasure to deal with you.

Next: a very big thank you to the four tour guides we had. They were lovely and the kids really liked the tour. We asked them to write a short feedback (positive and negative) and your tour guides were a real hit. The kids understood the language and enjoyed the day. So thank you very much for all your effort and brilliant work. I could have listened to our guide for ages and would have followed him for the rest of the day.

Take care and hopefully we can come back next year!"

Steffi Heim, Germany

"Lindsay was OUTSTANDING great knowledge, humour and massive history.
She spoke in a very clear manner with excellent diction and great voice projection despite the school groups trying to drown her out.

What a great start to our trip to Canterbury and a pleasure to have undergone a tour conducted by Lindsay.

Thank you very much, perhaps you would pass our comments onto Lindsay."

Alan Berriman
