20 Newly Qualified Green Badge Guides for City

Last Tuesday 17th September, a special Badging Ceremony was held for 20 newly qualified Canterbury City Green Badge Guides in the Explorers’ Gallery at the Beaney. The Guides had spent 6 months training with Canterbury Tourist Guides to achieve their qualification, accredited by the Institute of Tourist Guides (ITG)....

The Lord Mayor presented the guides with their Green Badges, and Mrs. Dawn Blee, representing the Institute of Tourist Guides and Mrs Sally Jacobs, Institute of Tourist Guides Chief Examiner gave the guides their certificates.

The Chairman of Canterbury Tourist Guides, Brigadier John Meardon, said “The new guides have worked very hard to earn their Green Badges and we welcome them to Canterbury Guided Tours and look forward to them enlightening future visitors to the City with all that they have learned.”
